Gun River's Litters and Available Dogs
For Adoption: American Staffordshire Terrier aka Pit Bull.
Shimmer is a wonderful dog. She is sweet and loving. Shimmer was picked up starved and in terrible condition in Portland as a stray. Despite her condition she went willingly to the shelter. All temperament tests were given there at the shelter and she passed them all with flying colors. The vet examined her and started treating her immediately and she was always great with the vet and all the staff. She was not made adoptable due to her condition and in the final days there were still no available foster homes. When her time was about up I found out about her and took her immediately with the help of Mikey's Chance. I have had her ever since. Despite me dragging her into the bath tub and trimming her nails for the first time in her life, and treating her ears that have hurt her for so long and though she clearly does not like them touched NEVER has this dog growled at me or acted in any way like she even thought about it. I can easily get her onto her back and she is always loving. Shimmer LOVES to retrieve and play tug and she is an incredible dog with an incredible heart. I have seen nothing in this dog to ever question her temperament I have only seen her to be kind, gentle and loving. The shelter and my own vet believe Shimmer to be about 5 years of age. When she is introduced to new dogs on leash of course, her response has been that she wags her tail. Her only problem is that she does have a skin allergy but I have been able to manage it with her diet and a little care. At the shelter, she was labeled,"A Shimmer of Hope." Shimmer deserves a loving forever home where she is loved.
Shimmer is a spayed female, current on vaccines and obedience trained. She is clean, very mellow, yet playful. She will be an excellent home companion!
